DIAZ AND CARRANZA CLAIM SONORA
Mass confusion broke out in the territory of Sonora, after President Diaz and General Venustiano Carranza both claimed the territory. A coalition of forces made up of Renovadoras, Antirreleccionistas, Porfiriatas attacked a weak Maderista defender, and moved quickly to assume control. That’s when confusion broke out. No shots have been reported among the attacking coalition. Civilians once under the control of Madero were seen fleeing the territory, following the battle.
ZAPATA CLAIMS DURANGO AFTER BATTLE
General Emiliano Zapata has claimed control of the territory of Durango after a fierce battle late this Monday. A band of Zapatistas and Antirreleccionistas attacked and overwhelmed the defending Maderista units. It was first thought that Genera Gutierrez would assume control of the territory. But units loyal to Zapata were quick to raise the silver flag. Reporters dispatched to Gutierrez’s headquarters in Guanajuato returne to their desk at the Periodico Revolucionario with no explanation for this state of affairs.
SIEGE AT JALISCO CONTINUES
The siege at Fort Jalisco goes on. The occupying forces, lead by President Diaz and General Zapata, relentlessly attacked the fort, destroying many of its outer defenses. The Maderistas continue to fight on, though it looks very grim.
Holed up in his fortress, General Francisco Madero said, “the people of Jalisco will see their attackers in hell.”
DIAZ SECURES SINALOA
Federalis under the control of President Diaz have killed a defending Maderista outfit in Sinaloa. President Diaz is now in control of that territory.
IS GUTIERREZ RUNNING?
That is the question occupying the chatteirng classes here in Districto Federal. While he has called for a new election, General Gutierrez has to yet official confirm he is running for president. Did he call an election just to de-throe the current president, Diaz? If Gutierrez does run, how will his longtime ally General Emiliano Zapata react? Inquiring minds want to know.
